Swami Ramanand Teerth Marathwada University (SRTMU) in Nanded was founded in the year 1994 after bifurcation of the Marathwada University at Aurangabad.  The University has been named after Swami Ramanand Teerth, a renowned educationalist and social activist.

The University is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and accredited with two stars by National Assessment and Accreditation Council, NAAC. Numerous Graduate and Master Degree courses are taught in several fields at SRTMU Nanded.Teaching at the Campus follows School system with interdisciplinary characteristics.

Admission

MBA admissions are given by Common Entrance Test i.e. CET operated through Directorate of Technical Education, Govt. of Maharashtra Mumbai. Commerce students get admission directly by the university if they are eligible.

(2) The school of physical sciences offers M.Sc. course in Physics with Astrophysics, Materials science and Fiber Optics and Lasers as the elective papers.

Admissions: Eligibility for Admission to M.Sc. Physics in this school is B.Sc. from a recognized university with physics as one of the main subject at under-graduate level.

The 8" Meade USA made Lx50 Reflecting telescopes, CCD camera for Astronomical imaging, SSp-3 solid state detectors, two digital workstations, vacuum coating unit, autoclave, gamma ray spectrometer, G.M.counters, susceptibility, measurement unit, He-ne laser sources and laser detectors, optical fiber characteristic measurement unit, fiber optics based digital or analogue communication set up, conductivity, dielectric constant measurement unit, furnace up to 900 OC with temp, control unit, constant deviation spectrograph, Microwave sources and detectors.

School of languages:
The School has been founded on July 15, 2000. It runs M.A. (English) and M.A. (Marathi) courses of two year duration.

Candidates those who have bachelors degree in Arts with optional English or Marathi and with minimum 40% marks in aggregate, from any recognized University are eligible for the admission.

School of Social Sciences is an inter-disciplinary school of higher learning which was started in 1994 with establishment of the Swami Ramanand Teerth Marathwada University. The School is poised for generation of knowledge in fields of social research and social work through quality education. The extension activities of the School deal with issues of social importance and relevance to the society at large and the region in particular.

Eligibility for these courses is graduates degree in any stream of recognized university with at least 40% marks. Facility for research leading to Doctorate degree in Sociology and Social Work is also available.


The School was initiated in 1994 by upgrading the Chemistry Course being conducted at the erstwhile sub-center of Marathwada University, Aurangabad. It is planned to convert the specializations being offered into full time M.Sc. courses.

Admissions
Admission to the course is purely depending on academic level at the graduate level examination. Any candidate who is holding a B.Sc. degree in Chemistry or a general B.Sc. with Chemistry or Industrial Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry as an optional subject, from a recognized university is eligible for admission.

The School of Earth Sciences is one of the fundamental schools to be established with the inception of the University. The School of Earth Sciences has been proposed to comprise the streams of Geology, Geography, and Environmental Sciences with other Earth Sciences for the best use of the natural resources of the region for its unitary growth. The School provides specialization in Environmental Geology, Groundwater Geology, and Geoexploration.

Admission to the School is based on merit at concerned graduate level examination and Government rules of reservation. Candidates having requisite graduate's degree are eligible for admission based on merit.

School of Education Science:
School of Educational sciences initiated in the academic year 2005-06. The school is operating M.Ed. and M.P.Ed. Courses and attempts are initiated to develop the course by widening it in all directions by teaching; research, extension and community work with social commitment.

Master of Education (M. Ed) - 40
Admission process: course runs on financially self support basis and admission process has been carried through entrance examination conducted by university.

Master of Physical Education (M.P.Ed.): course runs on financially self support basis. The admissions are given by Entrance Examination (CET) of Directorate of sports and youth services, Maharashtra state.

Intake are of the course is 30.
