Mahatma Gandhi Antarrashtriya Hindi Vishwavidyalaya (MGAHV) is a Hindi Language University. Hence, all the courses offered by the University are taught in Hindi Language. The University was founded in the year 1997. It was established by an Act passed by Parliament. It is located in the city of Wardha in Maharashtra.
It is a Central University which is recognized and funded by the University Grants Commission (UGC). The Gandhian philosophy is reflected in MGAHVs work culture, curricula and administrative system. The University serves as an international platform to provide various courses of higher education which reflect a fine blend of Indian culture and ethics with modern advancements.
The University has schools for language, translation, literature, interpretation, and culture. Post graduate courses and research programmes are usually provided by the university. The University is mainly a residential university.
The University has a Distance Education Centre. It provides employment-oriented courses. It presents alternatives to the current education system, original thinking and research in Hindi.
