Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth

Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth (MPKV) in Rahuri was founded in the year 1968 as the 'Maharashtra Krishi Vidyapeeth'. The University was renamed after a great social reformer Mahatma Jyotiba Phule. It is located on Pune-Delhi highway at Rahuri in Ahmednagar district.
The University is one of noted agricultural universities in the state of Maharashtra. It is recognized but not funded by the University Grants Commission (UGC).
The University offers B Sc / B Tech / M Sc / M Tech in Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry and Agricultural Engineering. The University also provides lower level agricultural courses through Horticulture Training Centre and trainings for livestock supervisors. The University looks after a number of research stations spread over different agro-climatic zones.
Research is one of the important activities of the University. The research programme is organised through 4 main research stations and 21 sub-stations located throughout the jurisdiction of the University. There are 172 research projects funded through ICAR, Govt. of India, State Govt. and other funding agencies in the country and abroad.
