Maharashtra MCA CET (MAH-MCA-CET) 2013
The Directorate of Technical Education, Maharashtra conducts the Maharashtra Master of Computer Applications Common Entrance Test (MAH-MCA-CET) for admissions to the postgraduate Master of Computer Applications (MCA) degree, either as a first-year/direct second-year (separate division and lateral entry) in the three-year full-time course.
The entrance test is conducted for admission to MCA programmes in government aided, government, university managed, university departments and unaided institutes in Maharashtra.
MAH MCA CET 2013 Important Dates
- Sale of the application kit at select Axis Bank Ltd. branches: 4 March to 13 March 2013
- Online submission of the CET application form and online payment: 4 March to 13 March 2013
- Online application form closes to submission and confirmation: 13 March 2013 (5 p.m.)
- Hall tickets issue through candidate log in: 25 March 2013 onward
- Date of the entrance test: 7 April 2013
- Results announced: 15 April 2013
It is possible to submit the online application form late by paying an additional late fee (Rs. 1,000) in cash on 14 or 15 March (between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m.) at Sydenham Institute of Management Studies Research and Entrepreneurship Education (SIMSREE), B-Road, Near Church gate Station, Church gate, Mumbai-400020.
MAH MCA CET 2013 Eligibility criteria
The minimum eligibility criteria to appear for the exam is 50 percent aggregate marks in any bachelor's degree of at least three year duration from a recognized university, or the equivalent. Minimum marks for backward class categories and Physically Handicapped candidates from Maharashtra state are 45 percent. Candidates should also have studied mathematics or statistics as a subject at the 10+2 level or higher. If you have appeared for the final year exam of a pending bachelor's degree, you are also eligible provided you earn the minimum marks as listed above.
If your bachelor's degree was the Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA), Bachelor of Science (Computer/Information Technology) or Bachelor of Computer Science (BCS), mathematics or statistics at the 10+2 level or higher is not required. These candidates are eligible for the first-year/second-year in the three-year degree.
MAH MCA CET 2013 Application Procedure
The application kit will be available at certain Axis Bank branches. Candidates can apply online by submitting and confirming the online application form (at www.dte.org.in/mca2013).The printed application may only be obtained after confirming the application. No documents need to be submitted by mail during the online application form stage.
The application fee may be paid at select Axis Bank Branches in cash, or online with Internet payment, credit card or debit card. For open category candidates from Maharashtra state and from outside the state, the fee is Rs. 750. For backward class categories from Maharashtra, the fee is Rs. 550.
