The Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth is a State University and founded in 1970. This University is a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).

Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth at Akola, in Maharashtra, is a well known agricultural university in the Vidarbha region. PDKV grants Bachelors and Masters degrees in Science (BSc and MSc) and Agricultural Engineering and Technology. Currently Dr. V M Mayande has been selected as Vice Chancellor of University.
